The sight of a flickering fireplace is considered the epitome of coziness and a feel-good atmosphere. In our step-by-step guide, we explain how you can quickly and easily ignite a beautiful and environmentally friendly fire.
What you should keep in mind when lighting the fire: The fire in the wood-burning stove is best lit from top to bottom. This allows the chimney to heat up faster and quickly build the necessary draft for the fire. The best side effect: Very little smoke is produced, which means less environmentally harmful fine particulate matter.
Step 1:
Stack approximately 4 to 6 logs crosswise. Place small kindling (wax-impregnated wood wool pads) on top and ignite.
Step 2:
To ignite, open the air control completely (always turn the silver lever to the right/ to “+”).
Step 3.
Only when the fire has burned down completely and the flames have just gone out is the right time to add more logs. This prevents flue gas from escaping into the living space.
